The Schweinfurt dialect is particularly thick and locals have a peculiar way to form plurals that defies German grammar and is truly unique to the city. Consequently, the dialect is defined as “Schweinfurterisch.”

As far as manufacturing is concerned, Schweinfurt is the world capital of wheel bearing production. As the most significant industrial city in Northern Bavaria, Schweinfurt has the highest GDP in Bavaria and is the premier European manufacturing center for roller bearings. In the past few years, the city has also gained a reputation as a place for the arts and now advertises itself as a city of art and manufacturing.
