Rot Kreuz Hospital Würzburg
The Würzburg Rot Kreuz Hospital is a public health facility that has been operated for decades by the Munich Sisterhood of the Bavarian Red Cross. As a public, general care hospital, the Rot Kreuz offers diagnostics and treatment modalities that adhere to the latest medical and infection-control standards, as well as comprehensive surgical services. In order to provide patients with optimal continuity of care, from diagnostics to therapies, the Rot Kreuz works with a large network of physicians. Patients start out with a doctor’s office visit and then have their care transferred to the hospital, where their medical provider, in collaboration with the hospital’s provider team, is actively involved in their care.
The Würzburg Rot Kreuz Hospital offers 100 patient beds. Annually, about 5,500 patients receive care from around 255 staff members.

The Munich Sisterhood of the Bavarian Red Cross has its origins in the care of the sick and infirm. To this day, there is a heavy emphasis on personal and compassionate care at the Rot Kreuz Hospital. The sisters of the adjacent monastery continue to provide care to patients, supporting the healthcare staff in their daily tasks.

The Rot Kreuz Hospital is located in the Würzburg town center, close to the world-renowned Würzburg Residenz Castle and its surrounding park. Despite its central location, the hospital is an oasis of peace and quiet, guests and visitors alike enjoy the idyllic courtyard. Architecturally, the Rot Kreuz Hospital is truly unique: the oldest part of the building was a city castle, the first representative residence built by the world-class Baroque-era architect Balthasar Neumann.
